For the last few hours, the iTunes App Store is partially down, not letting the users download their favorite apps from the store. As we reported earlier, this could be because of the migration the company is doing to run two instances of their App Store.
If you are trying to download an app from the App Store, and if you’re experiencing errors like “The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later “, then you’re not alone. The App Store is down for many across the world, and this outage is not yet over. While Apple has been working on to migrate the MobileMe users to iCloud, this might be one of the reason for the store to go down!
We contacted some folks over at the company and they’ve confirmed that they’re aware of this issue and are working hard to fix it. They refused to let out any other information like the cause, or the estimated time for the store to be back online. We know, we disturbed them while they were working.
There’s also a speculation floating around that the store has been hacked. But we think its because of the fix they applied for the in-app billing hack which popped up a few days before. This could have caused the store to behave incorrectly! Currently, the App Stores in the UK, US, Kuwait, Singapore and India are confirmed to have been experiencing this outage!
