Microsoft has set the prices for the Windows 8 upgrade. Today it revealed that the Indian users would get the upgrade at a much cheaper price when compared to other parts of the world for just Rs. 699.
Microsoft’s Windows 8 just reached its Release Preview version and now, the pricing for the upgrade options are out. The company has said that the users will have to pay just Rs.699 to upgrade their existing and valid Windows 7 PC to the new Windows 8. The company has also set an expiration period to this offer, this special upgrade pricing is valid only till 31st January 2013 and we are also expecting this date to get extended for a month or so.
So, if you have a PC that came pre-installed with Windows 7 in it, or if you have already purchased a valid copy of Windows 7, you will be eligible for the upgrade. If you are still not sure about your eligibility, you should probably look for a certificate called Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
Talking about this pretty reasonable price point for this upgrade, Mr. Tami Reller, CMO and CFO of Windows at Microsoft says:
“We’ve seen a great interest in Windows 8, especially given the availability of the Windows 8 Release Preview this week, and yet we know many consumers want a new PC now,”
