Sony Xperia S owners finally receive Android 4.0 update!

Remember the flagship device that Sony unveiled this year, running the same old Gingerbread in them? The device is now getting the taste of Android Ice Cream Sandwich, with an update that’s slowly progressing across the world.

Sony has been working on to maintain their competition with other major Android device manufacturers like HTC, LG and Samsung. The company is now rolling out the Android 4.0 update to its Xperia S owners across the world. There are some new feature and UI updates that are comiung along with this Ice Cream Sandwich for Xperia S.

Some of the noticeable changes that we could find is that the Notification drop-down can now be accessed directly from the lock screen and also the Face Unlock is now available for the Xperia S users. Moreover, just like how the iOS has, the camera shortcut has been placed on the lock screen, enabling easy access to the camera for the user. Many minor changes has been made to the UI all over the OS, and the photos and videos have received some noticeable changes.

The update is about 200MB in size, and you can update your Sony Xperia S device directly from Settings > Software Update. Let us know what you feel about the new update!
