Idea has launched yet another Android smartphone in the Indian market. The mobile service provider has launched a dual-SIM 3G smartphone called ID-918. The device runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, sporting a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 480×800 display resolution. The ID-918, which sounds like a Transformers movie codename, actually sports a 512MB of RAM with 150MB internal storage space, which can be extended upto 32GB.
Other basic features include a FM radio, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 3.2 megapixel rear camera. The ID-918 has been priced at Rs. 5,990 and buyers will also get free Idea TV subscription for 3 months, 2 GB of free data per month (for the first 3 months) and 10 minutes free talk time every day for first 90 days. Sounds cool?
The device is aimed at all the entry-level mobile phone seekers, and the company expects to capture some marketshare with this new entry-level device.
