Google to unveil the next version of Maps at ‘the next dimension’ event on June 6th! We’ll be there live!

Google has just invited us and some more media people for a special event, that would talk about the next major version of their Google Maps. The company is calling this event, ‘the next dimension’.

While there’s been a lot of speculation that Apple is dumping their long standing relationship with Google for their Maps application, Google is looking forward to put Apple in distress (Or probably they got the idea from Apple) by bringing the next major version of maps application to the public. As far as the taxonomy of the event goes, we are expecting the company to unveil the 3D maps technology that Google has been working on for a while.

We are still not sure if Google will bring this 3D technology to the browsers, but the company might unveil a dedicated client for Mac, Windows and other mobile platforms to get this new version of Maps working. But it surely looks like Google wants to hold this event just days before Apple starts off with WWDC 2012.

And we are going to be covering this event live from the event venue!
