Google today announced that they are bringing Offline Mode to Google Maps. So from now on, Google Maps will work without an active internet connection!
Google today unveiled that they are bringing Offline Google Maps to Android devices that would let the users use Google Maps, even when flying or while traveling in a tunnel. Rita Chen, Project Manager of Google Maps Mobile unveiled this feature that the maps are now going to work without an internet connection on the mobile devices. The maps would get downloaded automatically to your mobile device and lets you browse through a certain limit without even an active internet connection!
While this is the most awaited feature of Google Maps, the company has no word of the launch date of the tentative time-frame of the offline maps for Android. We will keep you posted about the happenings soon!
Update: A Q&A session reveals that Google Maps Offline is coming to iOS too. Google is working on it!
