Flipboard releases an Android app. Updates iOS App with Google+ Integration!

Flipboard, one of the most widely used unique Social News reader has received its taste of Android with a new universal app. That’s not all, the reader also got an update to iOS app.

You’ll not know Flipboard unless you’ve been staying under a rock for a very long time with your iOS device. Flipboard is social news aggregator, which can bring all your social networking profiles like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google Reader all in one place. The app was available for iOS initially but it was one of the major app that the Android users were anticipating. But Flipboard seems to have fulfilled this requirement by the Android users.

Flipboard for Android

Flipboard was initially launched exclusively for the Galaxy S III owners. But in just a matter of few hours, the app was modded to run on other Android mobile devices. The app runs just fine, with a lot of crashes happening all over the app. But now, looking at the demand, the developers of Flipboard has released an app for all the Android devices. The Flipboard for Android was in private Beta for sometime now on the Android, and the final version which hit the Google Play Store today was completely different than the Beta version, which came along with Google+ integration.

The app is now available for Free on the Google Play Store, and the app not only comes with Google+ integration, but it also comes with YouTube integration. Users can +1 a post on Google+ and also like a video on YouTube and also share the posts. Users will be able to access the app with the support for twelve countries, including Germany, Spain and Netherlands.

Flipboard for iPhone

Flipboard was chosen as the best app by Apple back in 2010, and the app has stayed on top of the list ever since. Instead of typical scroll gesture, the app brings a paper flip effect, letting the users flip through their social stream in style. The app has received yet another update on iOS, with Google+ and YouTube integration. So from now on, the updates on the Google+ stream would appear on the app and also, the new videos from YouTube channels which you’ve subscribed to, would appear in the newly updated Social news aggregator.
