Apple has reportedly agreed to pay out a hefty $2.25 million to settle the Australian 4G iPad Branding controversy that came up when the new device launched in Australia.
When the new iPad launched, Apple failed to make it clear to the Australian (and probably other users across the world) users that they new iPad was compatible only with the American 4G LTE networks and was not compatible with the LTE networks across the world. This created a controversy in Australia and many users started claiming back their money for the new iPad. But now, it looks like Apple has come forward to sort out the issue by paying a hefty $2.5 million to end this controversy.
The Australia’s Competition and Consumer Commission was the one which raised this concern and looks like this will be sorted out very soon. Before the next iPhone launches. Apple has already offered return of their money to some of the unhappy customers who got the new iPad believing that it would work on their 4G LTE networks. Good move Apple!
