Sparrow for iPhone has been updated to version 1.2. The most popular email client for the iPhone has got some good improvements in this update and the Sparrow team talks about bringing Push notifications to the App in the near future.
The much talked about and the $2.99 app for the iPhone is the first 3rd party full fledged email client for the iPhone. The well designed app has now received just another update which includes some user requested features like swipe navigation between messages, Landscape composing, localization and many bug fixes.
We reviewed the app when it launched on the App store a few months back and the app has been receiving continuous updates with some feature additions since then. But one major feature that everyone wanted was the Push notifications for the incoming emails. The app initially had push notifications, but then, Apple denied its permission to use the VoIP service on the iPhone to receive push notifications. The team had attempted to come to a conclusion with Apple regarding this, but looks like Apple are not game for exceptions.
So, the development team has decided to go premium for the Push notifications for the App. They have revealed that the users would be given an option to go for a premium subscription which would last a year to get Push notifications for Sparrow for iPhone.
