Siri banned on IBM networks due to Privacy issues!

IBM has banned the use of Siri over Privacy issues on their network. The company thinks that the queries spoken over to Siri might be stored somewhere, since we are unclear of what happens to the data once it reaches the Apple Data Centers.

Siri was introduced along with iPhone 4S as the major selling point and it has been doing a lot of wonders since then. The new AI technology, that comes packed with the iPhone 4S sends all the spoken words to their nearest servers to get a proper response after processing. Now that we know how the basics of Siri works, we are still unclear on what happens after the data reached the data centers.

IBM has now thought out and banned Siri from sending requests to Apple’s Data Centers, since the company thinks that Privacy is getting a hit with this. Though IBM is clear that Siri collects a bunch of data like the contact information and other such information, IBM is still unclear about how long the data are sent and how well are these data purged after the expiration period.

But on the other hand, Apple has clearly stated in their terms long before that Siri collects some data but did not talk about how long the data will be present:

By using Siri or Dictation, you agree and consent to Apple’s and its subsidiaries’ and agents’ transmission, collection, maintenance, processing, and use of this information, including your voice input and User Data, to provide and improve Siri, Dictation, and other Apple products and services.

Now, If you are working for IBM and own an iPhone 4S, but try to use Siri over the company’s network, you will be hearing a network unreachable message from Siri instead of the original query you asked it. And also, may be some more companies could do this too? We need to watch it then!
