Instagram saw 78% increase in traffic between March and April!

According to a new report by Comscore, Instagram saw a steep increase in their traffic by 78% and is expected to grow for the next few months. Is this because of the recent buzz it created since Facebook acquired it? Let’s have a look.

Facebook unexpectedly acquired one of the most happening photo sharing service on the mobile devices called, the Instagram. And to our surprise, Facebook also released a new app that has some similarities with the Instagram, called Facebook Camera. And now, Instagram gas seen a huge hike in the web traffic in the last month. The recent Comscore findings reveal that this new photosharing service has been one of the top internet website to have seen this huge hike in their traffic.

Instagram’s unique visitor count shot from 8,208 to 14,589 in that time period. And also, releasing the Android app just before it got acquired also has increased their user base by 1 million in just a few hours. But on the other hand, Instagram is currently waiting for the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to probe into the anti-trust violation by Facebook, and they are expecting that to get resolved in about six-months.

Now that Facebook is aiming at bringing their own smartphone and also, they have now got their own dedicated Camera app for those who heavily share photos via mobile, we are just wondering where Instagram would come into picture. May be when the new smartphone launches, tastes of Instagram could be seen everywhere, helping people edit their photos with photo filters and much more features that Instagram offers.
