HP today announced that the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, Mr. Bill Veghte as the Chief Operating Officer, in a transition to bring the company back on track.
HP has been doing a lot of changes to bring the company to the position it was atleast a few years back. And in this move, the board has announced that Mr. Bill Veghte would be the Chief Operating Officer. He was the Chief Strategy officer previously and now, he will be replaced by Mr. George Kadifa as the VP in charge of Software at HP. While Mr. Bill will still be having his Strategy role in his tasks, Kadifa will be concentrating on the software side of the company.
HP is in a state of reducing over 27,000 employees from their workforce this year and the new CEO, Meg Whitman wants to completely rebound the company and bring back a better quarter this year. Talking about how Mr. Bill would suit this job role, she says:
“he has done an excellent job delivering strong results in HP Software, and more recently helping us focus our efforts in the execution of our strategy,”
Both of them will be in position immediately and the company is expected to make such changes in the coming weeks. We just need to wait and watch how this goes in future.
