Google today brought all the Indian GTUG/GDG managers and fans across India for a special community driven event called DevFestX, at Bangalore, India.
Google has been rebranding their entire developer community and developer platforms off late and in such a move, the company has cashed in lot of money in bringing Google Technology User Group managers across the country for a special event called the DevFestX Bangalore. The event has got almost all the sessions on technology that Google currently has, right from Google Drive to Building Robots using Android.
We are here at the event and we think this is a pretty useful event for all the levels of developers and designers (Yes we had sessions on UI/UX too), working on Google technologies. The event kick started with a Google Hangout with Mr. Van Riper, Google Developers Relations Manager, Worldwide, who spoke about what Google is working towards and why rebranding Google developer resources are important for the company to increase the interest among the developer community.
In case you missed, Google recently bought all its developer resources into one single roofs called the Google Developers (http://developer.google.com). And here’s what Google told us about this new rebranding:
code.google.com wasn’t built in a day (it’s been around for almost 7 years), and it will take some time to make the new Google Developers site at developers.google.com your single destination for all the resources we offer. But we’re working toward that goal every day. Soon, all our information will be on this new Google Developers site, and Google Code will return to its roots as an open source project hosting service.
The event extends all over the day and is expected to offer some great sessions from both community speakers across the country and also from Students who have done some amazing applications on Android.
