Google+ Android app updated with loads of new features. Gets a new look and new Hangout feature!

Google+ for Android has got a major update since its initial release. The new update brings a huge visual overhaul and also, lets the users start a hangout right from your mobile phone!

Google released their companion Android app for Google+ when the social network launched last year and it has been kind of a simple and straight forward web wrapper on the mobile device ever since. But with the new 2.6 update, Google+ for Android just got better. The app, which let the users just join a hangout previously, now lets you start a hangout right on your mobile device.

While this is the major feature that Google has brought in the 2.6 update, all other feature additions are just marginal and the navigation between various elements of the app has just changed. The stream now has a look that was present in iOS with a full-width images, and videos, and full width description and also a very easily accessible +1 button for your stream. The update also allows you to download photos directly to your camera roll.

With Google constantly improving the mobile apps, the company is expected to do a lot more in the upcoming Google IO 2012, which starts this June.
