Github, one of the largest code hosting and version control website has now released a new client for the Windows. The Github for Windows brings all the features that a developer needs into one single application.
Github has been helping a lot of developers in hosting their code and maintaining versions of their code among the team for years. And today, the team has released a dedicated client for Windows. While Github for Mac has already been live for sometime, the new Github for Windows is a boon to a lot of users.
Github for Windows allows you to commit changes, revert changes, browse the commits, edit them, and also add new files to a project. We use Github for hosting our code and we found it pretty fast and very useful. While talking about the compatibility, Github says:
GitHub for Windows is a 100% native application that will run on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and even the pre-release Windows 8. Included in the application is a complete installation of msysGit making this the single best way to start using Git on Windows.
Both the team over at Github and we are excited about the new application, and quiz them about an app for the tablets, like how Panic did with Diet Coda, they might be doing just that next.
