Cisco has officially discontinued the development of the tablet device that we never knew it was under development, called Cius.
Looks like Cisco has been developing a tablet device that we were not aware of for sometime now. They had called this device Cius, a fully internet enabled, enterprise tablet from the company with a lot of features like WebEx, Jabber, Quad and much more of these kinds of apps. Cisco started off with the development about 2 years ago and now, it has come to an end.
Ask Cisco about why they discontinued the development, they say the its because of the market value they see. Also, Cisco said that they’d rather be focusing on bringing these kinds of applications to the BYOD concept for the corporate devices. Well, it would have been great if Cisco had sold one of those Enterprise tablets, and my intuition says that this would have worked for them in the tablet space, since a huge number of corporates believe in Cisco’s work.
