Axis for iOS is a bookmark syncing and browsing app from Yahoo!

Yahoo! has unveiled a new app for the iOS called Axis, which enables syncing bookmarks across the devices much simpler. This is not all, the app also allows you to browse through those right from your device.

While we all know that Google has been busy working on their own version of Chrome for iOS, here’s something that Yahoo! has announced unexpectedly. The company revealed a new kind of bookmark syncing application called, Axis for iOS. The app actually feels more like how Instapaper, Readability or Pocket works. Axis actually installs a desktop plugin for Safari or Chrome or Firefox before it can start synching the bookmarks across the iOS devices.

Axis for iOS has got some social networking integration built into it. You can share your bookmarks with comments across social networks like Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. Yahoo! has also taken sometime in incorporating Search Autocomplete feature even on the mobile devices, which is an added advantage.

The new app is now available for download from the iOS App Store for free. The app is universal and has been optimized for both iPhone and iPad. We are closely in contact with Google to know more about Chrome for iOS and we will keep you posted about its progress soon!
