Apple pushes iOS 5.1.1 for all iOS5 devices. Fixes bugs and security issues!

Apple has pushed a minor update to iOS 5.1, fixing some important bugs and security issues that was uncovered in iOS 5.1. The update is available Over-The-Air and is available for all the devices running iOS 5.1.

Apple has been working hard towards the WWDC 2012 which would commence this June for iOS6, but looks like they were looking into iOS 5 users too. The company has pushed an update that squashes important bugs that were discovered in the iOS 5.1 build. The new update is available to all the users and can be update over-the-air.

This is a delta update and weighs just about 48MB in size. Here’s the changelog for the new iOS 5.1.1 update:

  • Improves reliability of using HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut
  • Addresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks
  • Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in some circumstances
  • Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List
  • Fixes an issue where ‘Unable to purchase’ alert could be displayed after successful purchase
