Apple holds 19% of the smartphone marketshare in China! Expected to grow!

A recent report reveals that Apple has sold over 6 million iPhones between the period of January and March, thus taking the company to consume 19% of the smartphone marketshare in China.

Apple got into the smartphone business in China recently and has been posing a direct threat to its competitors like Samsung, which still holds a whooping 28% marketshare in the country. This comes right after the company launched the iPhone 4S, partnering with China Unicom and China Telecom.

Apple is also expected to be in talks with one another major carrier in the country, China Mobile and the deal would be singed pretty soon this year, probably when the new iPhone launches later this fall. The main reason that Apple was staying away from these Chinese carriers was the incompatibility that the device had with the carriers. But with the next generation iPhone, it is all expected to change.

We think this is a huge boon for Apple is competing with its rival, Samsung. The growth is expected to be constant for sometime, and is expected to have an exponential growth when Apple launches the next generation iPhone later this fall!
