Anonymous reacts to Indian Government for restricting access to file sharing websites!

Anonymous has turned its focus to Indian Government and has taken down two websites owned by the Indian Government today to fight back against blocking access to websites like The Pirate Bay, Vimeo and many other file sharing portals.

The world’s most famous hacker group, Anonymous has not started off its work in India. The group which fights for the freedom of the online citizens has now turned down two websites that belong to the Indian Government, Supreme Court of India and All India Congress websites. Anonymous has been already engaged with some of the ISPs in the UK for blocking access to such file sharing websites, but today, it has gone serious over the Indian Government for ordering such restrictions to the ISPs.

In a recent tweet, the hacker group confirmed that they are engaged in this operation, which they call, Operation India:

MT Operation #India: BREAKING: Tango Downs:supremecourtofindia.nic.in & aicc.org.in | Reason: Internet #Censorshipvia @opindia_revenge

— Anonymous Operations (@Anon_Central) May 17, 2012

Later on, the official Twitter account of anonymous also tweeted:

Namaste #India, your time has come to trash the current government and install a new one. Good luck. | #SaveTPB#Anonymous#Censorship

— Anonymous Operations (@Anon_Central) May 17, 2012

Being in India and understanding the level of importance these websites have for the Government, we think the effort would be not so successful in bringing up some change in this act by the Government. But still, its good to see that Indians are getting support from huge hacker groups like Anonymous. We just need to wait for what the Indian Government has to say about this in the coming weeks.
