Sparrow for iOS updated to 1.1. Push notifications to come in the next update.

Sparrow mail client for iOS has received its first update. The app has been bumped up to version 1.1 with some added features like in-built browser, send and archive options and some more added preferences to take control of how Sparrow behaves on new mails. The app still misses Push notifications for new emails, and the developers are working out some ways to get Push to the app for iPhone. Apple rejected the first version for using VoIP’s protocol to Push new emails to the app. But now, the developers seem to have been believing that Apple will revise this constraint and allow the app to use the Push service by Apple.

But for some reason, if Apple rejects the app, then the developers say that they have got some other alternative to get Push notifications to the app. The version 1.2 would also sport landscape support, 9 more languages, and gesture control to swipe between messages. Also, looks like the team is also working on an update to the Mac version of the app to fix the bugs that are currently there in the app.

If you are new to Sparrow, it is a very neatly designed and well organized email client for the iPhone and Mac. You can read out Sparrow for iPhone review here. The app costs $2.99 on the app store and has quickly become one of the apps we recommend for the iPhone users.
