Sony has revealed the list of Xperia phones that would get a toast of Ice Cream Sandwich in mid-April. The update was supposed to be coming out in 2011, but was delayed for some un-revealed reasons. Looks like Sony has overcome all the hurdles that it had to bring the ICS update to the Xperia devices. The updates are expected to roll-out starting mid-April and this would be a much welcomed by the Xperia users.
But only some devices are getting this update in mid-April, but some more devices would get the update by May this year.
Here are the list of devices that would get the update this mid-April:
- Xperia Arc S
- Xperia Neo V
- Xperia Ray
And here are the list of devices that would get their updated by May this year:
- Xperia Arc
- Xperia Play
- Xperia Neo
- Xperia Mini
- Xperia Mini Pro
- Xperia Pro
- Xperia Active
- Live with Walkman
This is a very good move by Sony in bringing ICS to the Xperia series. And we are yet to get some confirmation from Samsung about the list of devices that would get ICS update. But whatever may be the adoption rates, Google is releasing the next version of Android, Jelly Bean, this June at Google IO 2012.
