Sony plans to cut over 10,000 Jobs for restructuring the organization!

A newspaper in Japan is reporting that Sony is planning to cut over 10,000 jobs this year globally, to restructure the organization and streamline their product focus. The cuts are expected to happen in different sectors of the company. About half the employees who are working on the LCD sectors will loose their job and the rest would happen globally.  These are signs of recession, and Sony is planning to cut the jobs to cut the cost on excessive investments.

This is not all. There’s some more bad news for the higher management people too. The company is also planning to ask about seven of their top level people, including their Chairman to return their bonuses to the company. This is expected to continue for the next few months. And Sony is yet to announce this news to the public. This is a part of the recent announcement that Sony has made to re-organize and re-structure the company on the hole to keep their focus correct and maintain market share. This would be a huge layoff since 2008, where Sony laid-off bulk of employees from its organization to streamline their product lines.
