Microsoft has revealed that the Windows 8 will have 3 suites in them. One of the major version would be the one for the ARM Processors, called the Windows RT. The Redmond based company has split the Windows 8 into three major versions:
- Windows RT – For ARM
- Windows 8 Pro
- Windows 8 Enterprise
The Windows RT is more of a let down for the users, and it would come packaged with the tablet devices and will not be sold separately. But the other two versions are for the desktops and laptops. The Windows RT will not have the most widely used, Windows Media Player in it., and it will not be able to run the regular apps that are built for the desktops. If you’d noticed, the Windows for ARM is called Windows RT and not Windows 8 RT.
The Windows RT will be the most talked about and criticized OS by far, since it would lack a lot of features that people were expecting. And RT would be the first of the Microsoft’s family that would not be sold separately. The entire feature check-list has been published by Microsoft in an official blogpost and the criticisms are coming their way. But Windows 8 for the desktops would be revolutionary for its Metro UI. The OS is expected to reach the masses this summer.
