Google Docs now offering 5GB of Free Strage Space! Hints at Google Drive’s launch!

Google has started rolling out an update for the widely popular web application, Google Docs. The update gives the users 5GB of Free Storage space to all the users, to store and edit documents online.

This recent update from Google has hinted that the company is all geared up to launch the Cloud Storage Giant, Dropbox and SkyDrive’s rival, Google Drive. This product has been rumored to be coming out this year and is expected to provide massive storage space for its users.

Until yesterday, Google Docs users were given only 1024MB (1.0GB) of storage space, free for use. But today the company has started providing a massive 5GB of free storage space on Google Docs. We received a hint via The Verge earlier today, who noticed this change, and some of our friends also confirmed the same.

We are still unclear if this 5GB storage will be tied to Google Drive, which is set to launch as soon as tomorrow. But if that is the case, then the normal users would get 5GB of free storage space on Google Drive. We are just waiting for a word from Google about this new product. We will keep you posted as and when we hear something new from the team.
