Google has just revealed that the company is working on the much awaited Windows 8’s Metro-inspired version of Google Chrome. Windows 8 is currently in the consumer preview, which can be downloaded for free from Microsoft and is expected to hit the masses anytime next quarter. And now, many developers are working towards porting their application to the new Metro-UI that Microsoft has developed, and Google is not an exception. The company has confirmed Mashable that the Chrome for Windows 8 is in the making.
Chrome for Windows 8 would come with a touch interface, making it easy to port the application to other services of Microsoft, that are about to get Metro-UI. The browser is also said to get additional features like automatic syncing, swipe-enabled tabs and a lot of extensions support.
Mozilla has already confirmed that the Metro enabled Firefox will hit the market soon. But Opera and Apple are the two companies that are yet to make their announcements. But I think Apple would be least bothered to do a Metro enabled version of Safari, unless they see real demand in it.
