Earlier today, Twitter, the world’s biggest Micro-Blogging platform announced that it acquired Posterous, a lightweight blogging platform on their blog. The acquisitions have raised some critical questions as to what would happen to Posterous and other such doubts in the minds of people who currently use the service. Twitter did not disclose the terms of acquisition, but only states that this acquisition is only for bringing in talent and technology to Twitter, making it clear that the company would use the Posterous technology in Twitter lately.
Will Posterous live on?
Yes! Twitter confirms that the Posterous Spaces will still live on without any disruption, but now, will it get updates and enhancements actively is the next question being asked to Twitter.
If there’s some big change happening to the platform, Twitter has promised to intimate the users of Posterous. Moreover, Posterous has also published a short FAQ and official statement revealing information about the acquisition.
Posterous? What is it?
If you are not aware of Posterous, it is a simple and lightweight blogging platform with a mission to bring blogging to the masses. The service launched back in 2008 and provided support for posting to the service from email and other medium. Though Posterous did not get much of popularity as Tumblr got, the platform was service quite a bit of users.
