Sony Announces Xperia Sola: NFC, 3.7-inch ‘Reality Display’, Android 2.3 & more!

Sony has announced yet another Android running dual-core processor powered smartphone in the Xperia series. The new Xperia Sola comes with a 3.7-inches TFT Capacitive Touch display and now Sony is calling it the Reality Display. The phone also includes a 8GB built-in storage along with NFC support with Sony’s SmartTags technology. The camera is pretty good and can take pictures at 5-megapixels with panaroma options. The Xperia Sola sports a dual-core 1GHz NovaThor SOC (System-on-chip) processor and the phone is expected to perform really well with Android 2.3 running on it.

Sony’s new ‘Floating Touch’

Starting from Xperia Sola, Sony has introduced a new feature called ‘Floating Touch’. This feature mainly concentrates on the web browsers, enabling the browsers to react to your hovering rather than just clicking. We have always wondered at The 4Cast as to how we could use the hover on websites. But this floating touch technology is a boon for us.

Besides this, the phone comes in Red, White and Black color variants. Sony has also posted an official video of the new phone which will be available in Q2 this year:
