Samsung unveils Galaxy Beam. A phone that has a HD Projector in it!

Samsung has taken the wraps off Samsung Beam. An Android phone with an inbuit Projector in it and guess what? It actually works!

Looks like Samsung wants to make it big this year. The Korean based company has come up with a smartphone that has a HD projector in it. The Beam is powered by Android 2.3 which might be the downside. There’s also a 4-inch 800×480 display with a 1GHz dual-core processor and a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. The phone also comes with a 8GB onboard storage and also an expansion slot for more storage. Beam is a GSM only with quad-band HSPA+. Well, do you think these specs are exciting? I guess not.

Samsung has placed the bet on the HD Projector that is in the phone. Other than that I think there’s no selling point for this phone. The phone’s display is also not so great when compared to the other phone. And we can rate it a mid-level phone instead of rating it a high-end cellphone from Samsung. The Projector can project upto 50 feed wide and features a 15 lumens ultra-bright lens in it. You really can’t project whatever you see on screen on the phone. Instead, you will only be able to share photos, videos and games. May be the company will add support for the documents and browsers, which would take the phone to places and would definitely enter the Enterprise market if priced reasonably.
