Samsung announces Galaxy Pocket with 2.8-inch screen, Android 2.3 and weighs just 97gms.

Looks like Samsung did not have enough of the MWC 2012 and today the company has announced the launch of Samsung Galaxy Pocket smartphone with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and weighs just 97 grams and weighs almost nothing in your pocket. The new Pocket sports a 2.8-inches QVGA 240×320 resolution display on a 832MHz processor with a 3GB in-built memory. The memory could be expanded upto 32GB with MicroSD cards. The device is basically a entry-level smartphone for the first time Android users.

The device is 3G HSDPA enabled and can scale upto 3.6Mbps download speeds along with Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi networks. Along with these features, the device’s OS sports typical Samsung software like ChatOn messaging service, Social Hub and also the newly built FM application.

Galaxy Pocket will hit the mobile phone market in Italy this month and is expected to roll out to other markets too soon. These devices would be a hit when Samsung unveils it in the Asian smartphone market for its cost and features.
