Mozilla teams up with Telefonica to bring Open-Web-Devices this year!

Mozilla has been working on its new Boot to Gecko Project for sometime now and the company major focus has been to bring a completely new variety of devices that would boot from the web itself. The project is completely based out of the HTML and their aim has been to improve the performance of the entire operating system on the mobile devices. Having said this, the company has now joined hands with Telefonica to provide the Open Web Device platform to a larger variety of audience this year.

When the project completes and hits the market, it would enable a new breed of mobile operating system and since the devices are expected to cost much lesser than what the iOS and Android devices are costing now, it would become a hit among the Consumers and the Carriers. With the release date not so long from now, both the companies are putting their best of efforts to bring these devices to the consumers. The device would sport a Qualcomm chipset and as we reported earlier, these devices would be W3C standardized.
