Microsoft has revealed that the company would lower the minimum requirements of the Windows Phone 7 mobile OS to run on 256MB of RAM and the update is expected to roll out this April. The Redmond based company has codenamed the update as Tango to target a larger variety of mobile devices and mainly in China.
This would be the First major update for the Windows Phone 7 series since its launch and Nokia is planning to make big use of this update with low-end devices. Nokia has already come up with the Nokia 610, which runs Windows Phone 7.5 and the device has got just 256MB of RAM in it. The update will also bring deeper integration with SkyDrive and other Windows 8 like features to the mid-level and higher-end smartphones but these 256MB RAM devices would miss these add-ons, to reduce overhead.
