It’s not just iOS, but Andorid also allows users apps to upload Pictures!

Looks like the privacy has become a huge concern among the Android and iOS users lately. We are now coming to know all these privacy issues that are almost hidden in the devices you use every day, and do things that you do not want them to do.

There has been many reports that the Apple’s iOS allows apps to upload pictures to their servers, without any prior access permission. This information was revealed by The Verge’s Nilay Patel on Twitter.

But shockingly, today, Google’s spokesperson says:

“We originally designed the Android photos file system similar to those of other computing platforms like Windows and Mac OS.  At the time, images were stored on a SD card, making it easy for someone to remove the SD card from a phone and put it in a computer to view or transfer those images.

As phones and tablets have evolved to rely more on built-in, non-removable memory, we’re taking another look at this and considering adding a permission for apps to access images. We’ve always had policies in place to remove any apps on Android Market that improperly access your data.”

This issue might be just a bug, or an un-handled situation on the OS. But this is a little serious issue for people who have important picture that they do not want to share even with their friends. Also, this might be a serious issue for the Android users, since these devices are not prone to regular software updates to fix bugs on the device.
