A recent study reveals that Apple has sold more iOS devices than Mac computers in the past 28 years. With 55 million iPads, 37 million iPhones in Q1 2012 alone and 122 million Mac Computers.
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple recently revealed that the company has sold more iOS devices than Macs in their history. Mr. Cook revealed this information in a recent interview with Fortune. Apple has sold over 55 million iPads and 37 million iPhone in the Q1 2012 alone. But in the past 28 years, Apple has sold a total of 122 million Mac Computers.
Here’s what Tim Cook said to the Fortune interviewer:
This 55 is something no one would have guessed. Including us. To put it in context, it took us 22 years to sell 55 million Macs. It took us about 5 years to sell 22 million iPods, and it took us about 3 years to sell that many iPhones. And so, this thing is, as you said, it’s on a trajectory that’s off the charts.
