HTC has a very good time at the Mobile World Conference 2012, since it unveiled three huge devices, the One X, One V and One S with a competitive configurations, but the release date was still not clear. But now, it looks like the mobile phone manufacturer is in talks with AirTel to bring these three flagship devices into the Indian market. We have also heard that Samsung is also in talks with AirTel to bring some of their devices to the Indian market. This is probably because the largest Indian mobile service provider is launching the 4G service in Kolkata on March 20th.
Revealing more information about bringing the HTC One X, One V and One V to the Indian market, Mr. Manu Seth, Country Head, Marketing, HTC India says:
“HTC will be launching Android Ice Cream Sandwich based smartphones One X, One V and One S in Singapore on March 30 and in first week of April they would be available in Indian market. HTC is also in talks with Airtel to offer the One series of smartphones with bundled data offer, details for which are being worked out.”
It is concrete now that the American style contracted phones are stepping into the Indian market. This would probably change the way people buy their phones and also would allow the mobile service providers to hold their customers to their network for sometime, since MNP has already arrived in the country.
