How to fix the new iPad (iPad 3) WiFi signal reception issues! [Quick Tutorial]

Here’s how you could fix the poor WiFi reception on the new iPad. Just by tweaking some settings. No Jailbreak and No complex steps to follow!

The new iPad was launched in a special media even on March 7th and it went into the hands of the customers on March 16th. The new iPad had a stunning display and LTE capabilities but many users have been complaining about the poor WiFi signal reception issues. Before we could go ahead with the fix, just remember that this is not a fault with the device’s hardware, but its just that the software refuses to pull up the WiFi signals the right way.

I have listed some of the fixes that worked out for me. I tested these fixes on both the new iPad WiFi and LTE models and it just resolved the problem. Both the models on which I performed the tests were the 64Gig ones.

  • Open Settings and tap on “General”
  • Tap “Network” and tap “Wi-Fi”
  • Tap the blue arrow next to the wireless router you are connected to
  • At the next screen, tap “Forget this Network”
  • Go back to Wi-Fi and rejoin the network you just forgot

This should resolve the problem. We (at @We4Cast) have already been hearing that the software fix would be out soon on OTA to the new iPad customers. But if you think the above fix did not help, just try resetting the network settings instead. Here’s how you could do so:

  • From Settings, tap “General” then “Reset”
  • Tap “Reset Network Settings”
  • Reboot the iPad
  • Connect to a wireless network again

Again, these are NOT related to the hardware, but these are just software issues, so all these are easy to resolve. If you are still facing some issues, let me know, lets’ try out some other technique if possible!

    I had the same problem with my new iPad, the wifi range was really poor. I’ve searched for a solution to this situation, A LOT. Right when I lost all hope, I came across WIRED magazine and found a review of Pong Research cases, after looking at the great feedback on their products, I decided to place my order, to finally solve the new iPad 3 wifi issues . The back cover has a built-in antenna in between its layers, which redirects and boosts the signals and range, allowing me to getting connected from the distance!

      @HelenThames
      I think I know a fix.. But I ain’t sure it will help for you all.
      I changed my WLAN channel to 11, as my MacBook Pro did that too when it was tethering. Now I had internet (from my Wi-Fi) on my iPhone. I changed it back to my original channel 9 and it’s now still working. I guess you guys will need to mess a bit with your WLAN channel, good luck!
