A group of Homebrew developers have ported the most popular first person puzzle game, ‘Portal’ to Android Tablets, using the Unity Engine.
One of the favorite First Person Puzzle game, Portal has now been ported to the Android Tablets, unofficially. Some developers over at 4PDA, a Russian Android Developers’ community has made this possible with the help of Unity Gaming Engine. The game comes in 3D (Which definitely is not bad) and features all that the desktop version has.
The Portal won’t be coming out through the official channels at this point of time for the Android devices, but this homebrew port for the game is just amazing, hinting us that there are possiblilities of some more games, coming to us this way. The game is still in beta, and has been versioned as 0.004 currently. But we did not have too many crashes while trying it out with our tablets.
This has definitely opened doors for a lot of Windows based games to be ported onto Android devices. With Unity Engine powering this game, it is going to be easy to port such games onto Android in the not so distant future. If you are planning to grab a copy of this homebrew port of Portal, just head over to the Forum where the devs have posted the .apk and install it on your device and you should be able to run the game.
