Facebook has released ‘Facebook Messenger’ for Windows, a dedicated chat client that sits on your Taskbar, giving you access to chat with all your friends on Facebook. Facebook unveiled the Facebook Messenger for iPhone last year and now, the desktop version is out. The Facebook Messenger for Windows actually leaked back in December and there isn’t much change in this official release when compared to the leaked version. The company has put up a FAQ and Help page for the Facebook Messenger.
The app does not support Video chat and group chat features. It is just a straight forward one-on-one chat client for Facebook. Interestingly, the messenger has also got the News Ticker in it. But you can clearly see, this isn’t a full-fledged app. But it just pulls that section of the website to make you feel like its a dedicated messenger. If you do not want ads to get displayed and also, want to just chat with your friends, then this app would be of much help for you!
Facebook is slowly rolling this out to the public. Head up to this page and wait for the Download button to appear.
