Apple sold-out of the new iPad. Shipping dates slip to March 19th in the US

Apple has confirmed that they have run out of pre-orders. It took just two days for Apple to run out of pre-orders that could be shipped on March 16th and now the shipping dates have slipped to March 19th in both UK and the US. Now that the first installment of the iPads are sold-out, Apple is happy with the numbers now. The company has revealed that the number is groundbreaking.

Here’s what Apple told a publication about this new, groundbreaking number:

“Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts and the quantity available for pre-order has been purchased,”

Furthermore, When questioned about what Apple is planning to do for those unlucky customers, Apple says:

“Customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date.”

The demand has been as high as the iPad 2, which was unveiled by the Late Steve Jobs. Apple sold over 300,000 units of the first generation iPad and 500,000 units of iPad 2 on the first day of sales. But with the new iPad, the numbers are going to be amazing when Apple reveals it. Probably at the Q2 conference call.

We have already discussed about the new iPad at The 4Cast and we are just waiting for the new iPad to arrive at our office on March 16th.
