The most infamous hacker group, Anonymous presented the source code of the Norton AntiVirus 2006 to the public today on The Pirate Bay and weighs 1.07GB for all the platforms. It was YamaTough, a hacker group that breached the Symantec network to gain access to the source code of Norton AntiVirus 2006 and claimed a ransom to delete all the traces of the source code. But then, they released the source code of Symantec’s pcAnywhere on The Pirate Bay.
When contacted Symantec, they are in the process of analyzing the authenticity of the source code that was released by Anonymous and has communicated that the users are not to be worried about the recent source code release by the hacker group. Symantec also strongly believes that the source code is old and is no more in use. Besides this, the company is also expecting Anonymous to release further more source codes related to Norton AntiVirus 2006.
