News is making rounds that AirTel might launch of new 4G service in India on March 20th in Kolkata and will spread the coverage to Karnataka, Maharashtra and Punjab later this year.
We are hearing reports that AirTel is set to launch its first 4G network service in India from March 20th. The service would debut in Kokata. The pricing and other details of the service is still unknown. We have reached out to AirTel and their reply was “may be yes”, which partially confirms that the service would launch. The company did not reveal any more information about this.
The largest mobile service provider in India purchased the spectrum for Rs. 3,314.36 crores for circles which include Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab and Kolkata. And for the record, AirTel has got the maximum number of 3G users in the country. Augrere has already launched the country’s First 4G service and AirTel would be the second company to launch the 4G service.
And India would be in the list of countries which carries a 4G service in them really early. Bring it on AirTel!
