Tobii has made a software specially for Windows 8 that would launch applications when you just look at the apps on the screen, using advanced Eye Tracking technologies.
Tobii, a company that is specialized in making software based on eye-traking has come up with a new software specific to Windows 8, that would allow you to launch applications by just looking at the app you want to launch on the screen. This might help those ultra-lazy geeks who are lazy enough to use their finger to touch the screen and launch an app.
A camera helps to track the eyes of the user and the software calculates on what part of the screen you are looking at and would launch the appropriate app in that location. The company has also claimed that they were able to emulate almost all the swipe gestures of the Windows 8 OS and looks like they are working just fine.
As Gizmodo states, this might not be suitable for the Smartphones and tablets. But would be a super cool feature for the desktop PCs with touch based monitors. Here’s a small video demo from Tobii on the Tobii Gaze:
