Enable TRIM for almost all the SSD cards on your Mac OS X Lion and Mac OS X Snow Leopard. This method would allow you to enable TRIM support for third party SSD cards too.
As we all know by this time, Mac OS X supports TRIM but not for all the SSD storage devices. TRIM is basically a command, that helps the Operating System to send TRIM commands to SSD devices to let the device know which layers have been least used and will not be used to manage better storage on the device.
Taking this advantage to other SSD devices other than the ones that come with the Apple devices is essential. And thanks to a tool called TRIM Enabler. The tool enables TRIM support all the SSDs’ running Mac OS X Lion and Mac OS X Snow Leopard. The utility modifies the Kernel Extension to enable support for TRIM on all the SSD devices.
All you need to do is, just launch the app, and turn ON the TRIM Support switch. Enter your admin password, this is required since the app patches the kernel extension.
