Microsoft today announced in an official blog post that the Internet Explorer 6’s usage has finally gone down below 1% in the United States and is expected to decline as the days roll on. The company was happy about this new statistics which was published at the IE6 Countdown page recently. The major problem with IE 6 is the support for the latest technologies like HTML5 and CSS3 and also the long lasting PNG fix problems for the graphic and web designers.
The data shows that the worldwide usage of Internet Explorer is still at 7.7% and they are also expected to come down in the months to come. And interestingly, China has got the maximum number os users using IE 6, contributing to over 25% in the chart. The developers at the United States are happy about this news. Microsoft announced this at a local meet up of The Hacker News.
Besides this, Microsoft’s Windows 7 PC usage is set to overtake the Windows XP usage across the world in just 4 months. And the company is getting excited about this. The Windows 7 PC usage grew unto 13% from February 2011 and holds about 37% of the market share at the moment. At this rate, the Windows XP would fall below the Windows 7 usage on April 8 2012 to be precise. I think this is a good start of the year for Microsoft. And Windows 8 is also expected to show up at CES 2012.
