Apple has opened up the Textbooks section on the iTunes after introducing the iBooks2 and the iBooks Author for the iOS devices. You can grab a sample of these textbooks on your iPad.
Apple has made this huge announcement of revolutionizing the textbooks today at the special media event which we were live blogging. Apple’s Senior VP, Phil Schiller shared how these new ways of reading could revolutionize the life of students who are bored of the typical paper textbooks.
The announcement of the new Textbooks section on the iTunes Store was made at the event and the section is now open for the public. Right now, there are limited books available for download, from major players in the education industry like the Pearson, McGraw-Hill, DK and more.
There are some challenges that people could face with these books. The major challenge would be the acceptance rate of the schools to adopt iPad as their major communication and teaching device instead of the typical black boards. But not too far from here, this is feasible.
Here’s the list of books that are available for you to download now on the iTunes Store:
- E.O. Wilson’s Life on Earth
- Algebra 1
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Environmental Science
- Geometry
- Physics
