A major bug in Lumia 800 won’t allow users to cut an active call!

A major bug in the Nokia Lumia 800 will not allow the users to cut calls that extend over a minute. There isn’t a fix for this bug or is acknowledged by Nokia yet.

I reviewed Nokia Lumia 800 recently and have been using it for sometime now. But after getting the device in hand for a week, I received a call from the dealer asking me to bring him the device and get it replaced to solve the battery issue. Now that the battery issue has been solved, there’s another major bug that has been annoying me as well as a lot of users across the globe. The bug does not allow you to cut an active call unless the other person cuts it manually or you restart your device by pressing the power button continuously!

The bug has been discussed in the forum for a while now and Nokia is yet to respond to this either on the forum or officially. When I contacted the Nokia Priority dealer regarding this, they said:

We just came to know about this bug and on testing the device, it seems to be living. We have reported the issue to Nokia and they are yet to give us an official statement about the bug. Doing a factory reset solves this bug, but not for long.

I think this is a major bug since it takes a direct hit at the basic functionality of a phone. This has put the Windows Phone 7’s and Nokia’s QA under question. Though this bug does not occur frequently, many users are frustrated about this. And some have returned the phone to the stores. The thread that was created at the Nokia forum has got an immediate attention about this bug.

This is definitely a software issue. And if Nokia had heard this, there should be an update not far from now.
