Windows 8 App Store to be unveiled officially on December 6th in a special event!

Microsoft has sent out invites to select developers for a special preview event on December 6th at San Francisco to showcase the Windows 8 App Store that was discussed at the BUILD conference.

As Microsoft is working hard towards the public beta release of the Windows 8 operating systems for February, the company has sent out special invites to select developers to get a sneak preview of the all new Windows 8 app store, that will be plugged into the final build of Windows 8 when it hits the end-users.

The event is expected to last for two hours and will give some official announcements about the new Windows 8 and the revenue shares between the developers and the company! Microsoft will also be rolling out their new Xbox 360’s dashboard. The dashboard has been in testing already and have been kept under strict NDAs to stay away from the public!

If you have missed it, all the apps with Metro UI will be available ONLY via the Windows App Store. The app store’s features have been promising with very good licensing options. The users will be able to purchase apps based on the licenses, rather than the purchase once and use it anywhere model. By default, users will be given 5 licenses, which means that the user is allowed to use the app on 5 different PCs . Also the users will be able to access trials, extra licensing options and more.

If speculations are to be believed, the new Xbox dashboard will have an Facebook, Hulu, Netflix, Twitter and some more social networking integration in it. Some more information will also be given out at the special 2 hour event on Tuesday. Let’s see what Microsoft has got in its bag for the new App Store.
