Apple’s Siri like Virtual Personal Assistant comes to Windows Desktops with the name Mitini. The app is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows XP PCs.
As we all know that Siri is a very intelligent Personal Assistant right on your iPhone 4S and is accessible wherever you carry. But what if you are one of those who admire Microsoft, but love Siri from Apple? Well, there’s an alternative for that now for Windows Desktop PCs. The new app provides the Siri like functionality for the desktop systems! The Mitini is available on the Google Code for us to Download!
Mitini uses the Microsoft’s speech recognition engine to synthesize your voice and sends the appropriate answers for your queries! Using the app is very simple. Just run the app after you download from the Google Code Project page. After you run the app, just click on the ‘m’ icon and speak out to your microphone! The app would synthesize your query and respond you with the appropriate answer.
But the app is missing the accuracy that Siri has on Apple’s iPhone 4S. But there is nothing to blame the app, but its the Microsoft’s speech module accuracy that synthesizes the speech! I got some considerable amount of accurate results from the app, but it is very promising and has got a good future. If this app is being developed well enough, then this would bring some deep integration into the Windows System itself.
The server has got some limited responses for us to get answered. But still, it would get mature in some iterations of the app. But for now, this is a nice tool to play with!
