Solve the iPhone 4S’ “No SIM Card Installed” or “No Service” issue on iOS 5.0 or greater with Apple’s Official update to iOS 5.0.1.
Apple has issues a minor update to iOS 5.0.1 after many users complained about the No Service issue on their iPhone 4S after the iOS 5.0.1 update. The updated Build was pushed to the iPhone 4S users after some hours of the iOS 5.0.1 release. So those users who already got iOS 5.0.1 installed on their iPhone 4S before this update are still having some possibilities of facing this issue.
We already discussed about this issue in the previous post and now, let’s work on this fix to get it on your iPhone 4S. This fix seems to have solved the No Service issue for many users and with just 4 simple steps, you could get back the updated build of iOS 5.0.1.
- Backup your data with iCloud or iTunes.
- Put your iPhone 4S in DFU mode. (Optional)
- Restore the iPhone 4S with iTunes. You could restore to iOS 5.0 too. I would recommend this.
- As usual, enter your Apple ID in the iPhone’s Setup screen, to restore your content.
That’s it! You’re done. If you need to check if you are on the latest build of iOS 5.0.1 on your iPhone 4S, just go to Settings > General > About and check the Software Version. Check if it has got this information : iOS 5.0.1 (9A406).
