Steve Jobs talks about his cutting edge technologies built at NEXT, the power of Mac when compared to Windows, tablets and more about the future of computing in this rare video from 1990.
This video is a rare footage video of Steve Jobs, who has been interviewed by WGBH-Boston interviewer. Steve Jobs talks about computers, the networks that are being used at NEXT that reduces about 50% of the company meeting efforts and predicts the future of computers believing that it relies on how people would connect.
He also talks about how powerful the Mac OS X is, and how well it handles muti-tasking and also the way too sophisticated core of the OS on which it runs. The OS actually uses a technology that was built at NEXT, after his stint at Apple. Jobs strongly believes that the next big revolution would be the networks, that would define and create home computer market.
This 50 minutes long video hasn’t been out for long. Thanks to PBS for posting this video. PBS recently posted a special documentary about “Steve Jobs’ One Last Thing“. He also predicts that not so far from then, the end-users can plug their computer into a centralized hub and access their files, no matter where they are. Which eventually turned out to be cloud computing. And NEXT was working on this at the time he was interviewed.
